井上陽水「I yai yai」
CDアルバム『EVERY NIGHT』（1980年LP)で「I yai yai」を聴いた。作詞・作曲/井上陽水 編曲/鈴木茂。
小川洋子著《密やかな結晶》（講談社文庫）を読んだ。1994年に単行本で出たこの本をいまごろ読んだのは、数年前から話題の《博士の愛した数式》ではじめて著者を知ったから。その《博士の･･･》で感心した著者のフィクションの構築ぶりはこの本にもすでにあった。
「消滅」が繰り返されているある島。住人は何か物事と、そのものに関する記憶を突然失う。覚えていないから、失ったことを悲しむこともないのだが、住人の中に記憶をなくさない人々がいて、秘密警察による激しい「記憶狩り」が行われている。主人公は小説家の若い女性だが、小説も消え、やがて体の部分も消え始め、最後に声が残る。そのとき彼女は、かくまっている（記憶を持ち続ける）男に、あなたはもう自由だと言うのだ。
「秘密警察はもう記憶狩りなんてしてないわ。声だけになって、どうやって人を捕まえることができるの？」
形のないものは何かを束縛できないし、またされない。見事な逆転だ。ここで読者は、見張られて閉ざされている作品の世界から一挙に解放される。

♪OH,I YAI YAI YAI
♪青い家を守る為の なじなぞ
解けないなぞなぞのような歌詞。「長い壁」「守る」などの言葉から、閉ざされている情況を想像するが、歌を聴くと軽く明るいサウンド。
♪あの娘の家は 町より広く
♪あの娘の声は 青空の中
小説では、ついに「声」も消滅するのだが、陽水の歌う声は消えないし誰も捕まえることはできない。形のないものは自由だ。
♪あの娘の夜は 闇より遠く
♪あの娘の声は 星空の上

『博士が愛した数式』に反応。この本は第一回本屋大賞を受賞した本ですよね。実はこの本、私の「積ん読」コーナーにあります。寝る前に必ず本を読みますが、３分の１読んだままでした（失礼！）様々なジャンルの本がベッドのカウンターにあり、興味が向くまま気分で取り出しては読む私。よーし！続きを読むぞぉ～。

「数式」の文字に敬遠していた「博士の・・・」でしたが、読んだらその数式の美しさと「博士」のキャラクターづくりに感嘆。「友愛数」とか、ほぉーと思ったのですが、もう忘れてます。
上で読んだ本は村上春樹の世界と似ています。
わたしも何冊も読みかけの本が枕もとに積んであります。寝る前に読む本は、あまり面白くても困るんですよね。
